What would you tell yourself if you had a time machine and could go back when you first had a beard? This is my tutorial on what I would tell myself, and it's a great beginning point for people wanting to know how to grow a beard.

I wouldn't, I have different colors in my beard too (red, blonde, brown) =] people give me compliments on it and say it's very unique looking. I'm sure your beard looks very different compared to mine and honestly I think that's kinda awesome
What do you recommend as far as trimming? I work at a place that requires business casual and my beard is a little crazy and uneven. I don't wanna get rid of the length just look a little less like a homeless wizard.
I swear by these tips and I'm so grateful to have found this channel. I never thought I could grow a decent beard. Always patchy and scraggly. Six months ago I started watching these videos and applying the advice. I went to a barber for my very first professional beard trim about 2 months ago and I got 2 compliments on my beard, one from the barber, and one from another customer waiting his turn. I recommended this channel to the guy and it was then that I realized my beard is in fact pretty sweet. Full, smooth, and damn sexy. My wife loves it too. Thank You!!!
+Kim Jong Chill I followed the advice in these videos as best I could. I stopped trimming it every time it started getting bushy and just let it grow. The ugly growth stage is temporary, you just have to be patient until it passes. Once you have enough beard to really work with then you can start trimming and shaping. I started using product...beard oils and balms. They really do work to soften the beard and prevent itching and irritation. Using a hair dryer on low setting with a beard brush to straighten takes only a couple minutes but works great. The best thing, as was said at the end of this video, is the compliments. I get a lot now. I see a lot of men with awesome beards that I envy, but there are people all over who think the same thing about my beard. Its great. Keep watching BeardTube
Beards hold more bacteria than bins , do your selves a favour beardies and shave em of , and have a lovely clean face , and smell the fresh air :)
And stop looking soo 1903,
Yas look like these smelly arsed gold diggers from the 1863 gold rush in deepest USA , manko!!,
No but seriously youse are all nice guys , but hair is for the head ,
I Read somewhere that if you grow a beard past 1 inch you grow another ear somewhere on your body but dunno if that’s true , the only reason I’m mentioning this and writing this is because I’m watching Sky news 14-4-19
And in press preview it’s showing newspapers headlines (press preview) that most wives and girlfriends think silently they wish their better half would shave it off,and in newspapers it read that there is more bacteria in beards than in a dogs fur , the headlines read , and I quote : Men with beards are dirtier than dogs , wow , I think it was the daily mail and numerous other papers
All the best and kind regards
Luv yas :)
Yuck u only wash ur bear 2 times a week at most......u can get dsndruff in your beard and pimples on your face from not washing your beard ....that tip isnt good im a barber .......u need to wash it everyday .....n lol i guess u never go down on ur woman
I'm genuinely curious about the DNA strand that turns into a rosary on your right arm, & on the other "We are made of star stuff." I feel many religious people don't like any ideas that don't involve creation. Respect to you if you have faith while also being a free thinker.
Anyway, thanks for the video. I feel like you might trim your neck line lower on your neck than I do, but I tend to get annoyed when mine gets long, so I usually give up & put the big guard (either 7 or 10mm) on my razor & cutting it all short. 🤷♂️
I wash my face with soap and water every morning. This includes my beard. It's this no good? How do I wash my face and not wash my beard? Do I have to unlearn and then relearn to wash my face in some fancy new way?
I wanted to ask you a few things:
1- Do you grow Grey/Whites ? Do you color them if so then how often.
2- Do you trim & shape, if so how often ?
3- My beard is not so smooth it feels like hay stack not sure if thats the initial stage of growth.
Soooo glad that I found your channel it’s very helpful thanks for sharing your information! Only thing I could say to you is get rid of the smart watch dude, they have no soul! I suggest a seiko skx009 or 007 just check em out
Wash your beard everyday. It is full of bacteria. Wash your head everyday too. Head shampoo and conditioner are fine. Use beard oil and balm that's ok. Would you wash your hands and butts several time a week?
I need to wash beard quite often because I do sport a lot (gym and soccer).
After 3 days without washing it I rather do not want to smell my beard like a bird nest. It`s like using an antiperspirant without taking a bath.
Smells a lot worst :)
i work in demolition. I think is hard in my line of work to wash the beard only twice a week. how do you keep it clean? do you wash your moustache more often? when you wake up how do you "control" your beard without shower first? thank you for the help
5 things I wish I knew back then | Beginner Beard Tips
1. Make L with both your hands (L ⅃) and push up against between jaw and neck; trim below that line.
2. Use Beard Oil & Beard Balm (after washing your beard)
3. Use Beard Comb and Beard Brush
4. Don't wash beard everyday (once/twice a week) and use beard shampoo (not hair shampoo) and don't use conditioner at all.
5. Be prepared to reply to compliments and help other grow better beard.
(Brands in the description. Don't settle for cheap products)
I'm starting to grow a beard! This is my first week and I already bought some cheap beard oil, balm, brush as well as a beard soap. I know this is my first week but I really want to grow a healthy and good looking beard like yours! Good video bro, new sub.
Hey bro thanks for suggesting the Bad Ass Beard product I liked it. And even ordered the artis man also. Just did a rearview and will be uploading my video soon. If you would show some love and check it out. Will be posting the Artis Man Review Next week. Thanks you and a few other were a reason I started a New YouTube Channel. Thanks.
I'm always confused by everyone on the neckline. The edges (ie. near the ears) vs the centre (ie. under the chin).. Do you cut in a straight line or follow a curve? Bcuz the centre edges are closer to the jawline, but the centre is much further.. So should it be the same distance from the jawline throughout, or like I said just a straight line from edge to edge?
Also, what about beard softener? Some brands sell the wash and the softener together. Or is that different from what you mean by conditioner?
Okay. Completely stupid question I think, but this isn’t the first time I’ve heard don’t wash your beard daily. Just a few times a week at most. So my question is...what about the skin underneath? That’s not part of your beard, but it seems to me that that still needs washing but you can’t without somewhat washing your beard. So do you just wash what’s between your hairline and top of the beard and leave the rest alone? Just curious. Anyone who has an answer let me know lol
Thanks! Started watching your videos and have already learned a few things. You still using the headed brush? I have this mad cowlick that has prevented me from growing my beard past a certain point. It’s like I wake up one day and my beard has become self aware and is in revolt, no longer wanting to bend to my wishes. I’m wondering if one of those brushes could lick the lick. Also double thanks for the neck line advice. I am one of those guys doing it wrong. Well, as if this video I WAS one of those guys doing it wrong. Now I just have to wait for it to grow in lol.
My beard is down to my nipples the questions are not as frequent as when I had a handlebar mustache that I could tuck behind my ears. The most common can I touch it. Depends on who is asking female I respond with drawing the attention to a feature I like about them breasts or the bootay. Start with a comment noticed she has some really nice assets herself. Puts the conversation level. (Some stranger just walked up to me and has an compulsive urge to touch the hair I put more time into than that on my head) always shave your balls they dont expect that, but anyways this situation typically pays off in the 87% range the rest we won't count because we had to do it when her clean shaven husband wasnt looking. This conversation is advised against whilst at church, and meeting your grandmothers friends.... sometimes.
If a guy asks me it's always 110% you touch my beard I will bash this pint glass over your skull. The extra 10% is because sometimes dudes will ask you with a pint glass sticking out of their skull. It's always at the bar.
Tie for second is how did you grow your beard like that!? I ate my wheaties / it was so difficult, I did absolutely nothing.
Most respectable and still tied. How long have you been growing that? My goto because I dont know you is grow what? Then look around like I'm growing a horn on my back, or Captain Morgan Stance and say I was born with it. (Tilt head keeping eye contact winking while making a camera shutter sound with my mouth) the last 1 makes the rest of the ride on the Metro pretty awkward if there is no space to move around.
should I make that a video?
That’s true if your child is gravely ill, but otherwise it is not true — as the presence of all us former Free-Range Kids proves.
What prompted you to found the Free Range Kids movement? I think it was the cameramen and make-up ladies at The Today Show. While everyone was bustling around preparing me and my son Izzy for our interview, they asked what we were there to talk about. I said, “I let him ride the subway.””I did that at his age!” said a couple of the cameramen. “It was fun!” The make-up ladies remembered walking to school. Everyone started reminiscing about their childhoods — the freedom, the joy, the simple fun of walking down the block to knock on a friend’s door to come out and play. And then they’d shake their heads and say, “But I would never let my kids do that today.”
“Times have changed.”
They’re right of course — nothing stays the same. Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, crime was on the rise. It went up and up until it peaked around 1990. The strange thing, though, is that since then, it’s been going back down. Dramatically. Today we are back to the crime level of 1970, according to Dept. of Justice statistics. So — unbelievable as it seems — if you were playing outside as a kid in the ’70s or ’80s, your kids are actually SAFER outside than you were!
It doesn’t feel that way (at ALL), because when our parents were raising us, there was no CSI. Law & Order was something you believed in, not something on the air 8 nights a week, made to look depressingly real. The other day I got a letter from a guy in an old Brooklyn neighborhood where they shoot a lot of Law & Order scenes. On TV, it’s always the backdrop for a rape or murder. In real life, he said, it’s a safe, quiet safe neighborhood — and therein lies the tale: There’s a big disconnect between the horrors on TV and the reality we live in — the safest time for children (in America, that is) in the history of this disease-plagued, famine-prone, war-wracked world.
